Pin vs Nova Recruiter: Pricing, Channels and Scope in 2026

Three recruiters cost EUR 199 on Nova Recruiter and $405 on Pin, because one of us bills by usage and the other by seat. Here's where that gap decides the purchase, and where it doesn't.

Pin vs Nova Recruiter: Pricing, Channels and Scope in 2026

What Pin actually is

Pin is a sourcing platform that has grown into a broader recruiting product. It searches 850M+ public profiles, runs AI agents over the search, and sends outreach across email, LinkedIn and SMS. On top of that it ships a native recruiting CRM with a pipeline view, native interview scheduling, and integrations with 120+ ATS platforms. It also publishes an MCP server, so it can be driven from an AI assistant.

Nova Recruiter is narrower on purpose, and that’s the whole comparison. It searches 800M+ public profiles, ranks them with the Talent Score, and runs outreach across Nova, LinkedIn, InMail and email. There’s no CRM and no scheduling, because it expects to sit next to your ATS rather than replace it. Pin spends its surface area on covering more of the process; Nova Recruiter spends it on who ends up in the shortlist and whether they answer.

Both approaches work, and neither of these is a weak product: if you’ve read somewhere that Pin just fires messages at the top of the funnel, that description is a couple of years out of date. The question isn’t which one is better built, it’s which trade-off matches your bottleneck. If you want the wider view of who does what in this market, we mapped the twelve categories of AI recruiting software.

What each company publishes on pricing

Nova Recruiter publishes every tier up to Enterprise, and Pin publishes every tier up to Business, so this is one of the few comparisons in the category where both sides put numbers on the page. Pin’s top tier went behind a contact button recently: its Business plan carried a $225 per user price on annual billing in mid-August and is custom priced now. Compare that with hireEZ, which publishes only its solo tier, or with what a LinkedIn Recruiter seat costs, and Pin is at the transparent end.

Nova Recruiter pricing from novatalent.com/nova-recruiter. Pin pricing from pin.com/pricing. Both verified 24 August 2026. Pin’s Business tier was published at $225 per user on 17 August and is custom priced as of 24 August.

The line that matters is the second to last one. Pin bills per user, so the price tracks your headcount. Nova Recruiter bills by credits used, so Growth covers three people for EUR 199 whether one of them or all three are searching. On Pin, three people on Professional is $405 a month on annual billing, $537 if you pay monthly.

Which way that cuts depends on your team. If every recruiter is sourcing at volume all month, per-user pricing is predictable and they each get 1,000 credits. If usage is uneven, or two of the three only dip in now and then, you’re paying full price for seats that aren’t being used.

[!ACTION] Before comparing the sticker prices, count how many people will actually run searches in a normal month, and how many just need to look. Per-user pricing punishes the second group and shared credits don’t. That single number decides which model is cheaper for you, and it isn’t the one on the pricing page.

Feature by feature

These are the dimensions that decide a sourcing search. Pin’s native CRM and interview scheduling sit above rather than in the table: they belong to the all-in-one case, not to this one. The rows where one of us has something the other doesn’t are the ones that should decide anything.

What Pin does well

Pin is the wider product, and four things are genuinely theirs:

  • SMS in the sequence. Pin includes it from Solo up and Nova Recruiter doesn’t have it at all. For hourly, frontline or high-volume hiring, that’s a real gap on our side.

  • A native recruiting CRM. Pipeline view, candidate cards, the whole layer. Nova Recruiter doesn’t have any of it and doesn’t pretend to.

  • Native interview scheduling. Same story.

  • 120+ ATS integrations against our 60+, with the major names listed publicly in their FAQ.

Put together, that means a small agency can run on Pin alone. Nova Recruiter takes the other side of that trade on purpose: it goes deeper on sourcing and outreach and expects your ATS to handle the rest, which is the whole reason the two products hand you different shortlists.

Where Nova Recruiter goes further

Four things, and the first two are the same thing seen from two angles.

The ranking. Pin ranks candidates against your search criteria with its own matching model, plus AI Evaluation and Talent Insights on the higher tiers. Nova Recruiter’s Talent Score ranks by merit rather than by how closely a profile echoes your keywords, and behind it sit 150,000+ candidate evaluations and a curated network of 25,000+ pre-vetted professionals, built over more than six years. For high-volume, non-specialized hiring both approaches work. For senior or technical roles, where a shortlist of thirty good-looking profiles is worse than a shortlist of five right ones, that’s the difference you feel.

The Nova channel. This is the part no competitor can rebuild, because it means owning the network first. A message sent through Nova arrives inside a curated group of 25,000+ pre-vetted professionals who joined in order to be discovered. An email or an SMS arrives at somebody who didn’t ask to hear from you. Think of the data lead who’s never once replied to a cold email and still answers inside a network she chose to join: she isn’t a hard candidate to reach, she’s a hard candidate to reach the usual way. Those two occupy the same row in a comparison table and they aren’t the same thing, which is much of why passive candidates ignore most outreach.

On reply rates, Nova Recruiter reports 2.5x more replies than single-channel outreach. That’s multichannel measured against single-channel sequences, not a head-to-head against Pin, and it shouldn’t be read as one. Pin runs multichannel sequences too.

Four channels against three. Nova Recruiter sequences Nova, LinkedIn, InMail and email. Pin sequences email, LinkedIn and SMS. Pin has the one we don’t, and we have two it doesn’t, InMail and Nova itself.

The price stops tracking your headcount. Growth covers three people for EUR 199 because it bills by credits used. On Pin every seat is charged, so the same three recruiters are $405 a month on annual billing. The gap widens with every person you add who only sources occasionally.

What is the same, whatever either of us says

Four things get sold as differentiators in this category and aren’t:

  • Database scale. 850M+ against 800M+. Marginal, and neither number says anything about ranking quality.

  • MCP. Both publish a server. Twelve months ago this was a talking point; today at least five vendors in this market ship one.

  • Multichannel automation. Both run sequences with automatic follow-up that pause when a candidate replies. Neither of us is doing this by hand.

  • AI agents over the search. Both include them on paid plans.

If your evaluation stops at that list, the two products are close to interchangeable and you should pick on price and scope. That’s the honest answer, and it’s the one most comparison posts on either side won’t give you. We put seven sourcing tools side by side if you want to widen the shortlist.

[!ACTION] Strike database size and MCP off your evaluation sheet. Every serious vendor in this category now advertises 800 million profiles or more and publishes an MCP server, so neither one tells you anything. Spend the time on the shortlist quality instead: run the same role through two tools and compare the first twenty names.

When should you choose Pin?

  • You need SMS as an outreach channel.

  • You want sourcing, CRM and interview scheduling in one product rather than three.

  • Every recruiter on the team sources at volume, every month, so per-user pricing is predictable rather than wasteful.

  • Your ATS is on their 120+ list and the integration depth matters to you.

  • You’re comfortable with annual billing, which is the only option on Solo.

When should you choose Nova Recruiter?

  • Shortlist quality decides the search, because the roles are senior, technical or hard to fill.

  • You’d rather the price tracked usage than headcount.

  • Usage across your team is uneven, so shared credits beat per-seat licenses.

  • You want reach into a curated network as well as the open web.

  • You want to pay monthly with no annual commitment.

The bottom line

For a solo recruiter or a team of three that needs sourcing depth without paying per seat, Nova Recruiter is the better buy: EUR 199 covers three people against $405. For a team that needs SMS in the sequence, or wants the CRM and the scheduling inside the same product, Pin is.

Both are credible products with a permanent free plan, so the cheapest way to settle this isn’t to read either of our blogs. Run the same role through both and compare the first twenty candidates each one puts in front of you. That’s the only comparison that uses your data instead of ours.

Frequently asked questions

Does Pin have a free plan?

Yes, and it's permanent: $0, with 5 contact lookup credits a week, one job position, one AI agent and email-only sequences. Pin also runs a separate time-limited trial with full access, which is a different thing and gets confused with the plan constantly. Nova Recruiter has a permanent free tier too, with 10 credits a month.

How much does Pin cost for a small team?

Solo is $99 per user a month, on annual billing only. Professional is $135 per user a month on annual billing, or $179 billed monthly, and seats are unlimited but every one of them is charged. So three recruiters on Professional is $405 a month on annual billing, or $537 monthly. Nova Recruiter Growth is EUR 199 a month and includes three team members. Pin's Business tier is custom priced and isn't published any more.

Which one has the bigger candidate database?

Pin, marginally: it advertises 850M+ public profiles against Nova Recruiter's 800M+. At that scale the difference doesn't decide anything, and neither number tells you how good the ranking sitting on top of it is.

What can Pin do that Nova Recruiter cannot?

Three things worth knowing before you choose: SMS as an outreach channel, a native recruiting CRM with a pipeline view, and native interview scheduling. Pin also lists 120+ ATS integrations against Nova Recruiter's 60+. If any of those is the gap you're trying to close, Pin is the better fit. The trade runs both ways: Nova Recruiter reaches candidates through the Nova network and ranks them with the Talent Score, and neither of those can be rebuilt without owning a curated network first.

Do both work with AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes. Both publish an MCP server, so you can drive either one from an AI assistant instead of its own interface. This used to be a differentiator and isn't one any more.

Which is better for senior or technical roles?

That's where the ranking matters more than the automation, and it's the strongest argument for Nova Recruiter. The Talent Score ranks by merit rather than by how closely a profile matches your keywords, with 150,000+ candidate evaluations and a curated network of 25,000+ pre-vetted professionals behind it.
