2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They collect or store certain information to enable site functionality, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use our services.

Cookies can serve a variety of purposes — some are strictly necessary for the site to function, while others help us analyze usage patterns, improve performance, or personalize your experience.

3. Types of cookies we use

a. Strictly Necessary (Technical) Cookies

These cookies enable core functionalities such as page navigation, secure areas, and system integrity. The website cannot function properly without them, and they do not require user consent.

Examples include session management, load balancing, and security cookies.

  • cookieyes-consent Records the cookie preferences you choose in our consent banner, so that we do not ask again on every visit and so that we can demonstrate the choice you made. It stores no personal data and is set regardless of your choice, because it is what remembers that choice. Provider: CookieYes Retention period: 1 year Privacy Policy: https://www.cookieyes.com/privacy-policy/

b. Preference (Personalization) Cookies

These cookies remember your preferences (such as language, region, or UI settings) to enhance your browsing experience.

  • nova_td Set only after you unlock the Talent Density page by submitting the form on it. It stores the identifier of that unlock, so that the page can recognise you before it finishes loading and take you straight to the tool instead of the locked screen. It holds no name or email address. Provider: Nova Retention period: 1 year

c. Analytical (Performance) Cookies

Analytical cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. They support continuous improvement of Nova’s digital experience.

We use analytical cookies on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how our websites are used and improving them. They measure first-party usage only (pages viewed, sessions, traffic source) and are not used for advertising or shared for advertising purposes. Because they rely on legitimate interest rather than consent, they may be set when you visit the site. You can object at any time: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, enable your browser’s tracking protection, or email privacy@novatalent.com to opt out.

  • _ga This cookie is set by Google Analytics 4. It is used to distinguish unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier, which is included in each page request and used to calculate visitor, session and campaign data for our analytics reports. Provider: Google Analytics Retention period: 2 years Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • _ga_7DTVCXS3B3 Set by Google Analytics 4 to persist the session state for this specific website. The name ends in the identifier of the Analytics property used for novarecruiter.ai. Provider: Google Analytics Retention period: 2 years Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

d. Advertising (Marketing) Cookies

These cookies are used to deliver relevant advertisements and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. They help us show content that is more aligned with your interests.

They are only activated with your explicit consent.

  • _fbp Set by the Meta pixel to recognise your browser across visits, so that we can measure how many of the people who see one of our advertisements on Facebook or Instagram go on to visit the website. It stores a randomly generated identifier. Provider: Meta Retention period: 3 months Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
  • bcookie Set by the LinkedIn Insight Tag as a browser identifier, so that we can measure how our LinkedIn advertising performs and reach a similar audience. It stores a randomly generated identifier. Provider: LinkedIn Retention period: 1 year Privacy Policy: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • li_sugr Set by the LinkedIn Insight Tag to help recognise your browser, used for advertising measurement and audience building. Provider: LinkedIn Retention period: 3 months Privacy Policy: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • UserMatchHistory Set by the LinkedIn Insight Tag to synchronise identifiers for LinkedIn advertising, so that campaigns can be measured and audiences matched. Provider: LinkedIn Retention period: 30 days Privacy Policy: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • lidc Set by the LinkedIn Insight Tag to route your request to the correct data centre. Provider: LinkedIn Retention period: 1 day Privacy Policy: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy

e. Other browser storage

Beyond cookies, two items are stored in your browser’s local storage on the Talent Density page:

  • td_ref A randomly generated identifier (for example td1a2b3c4d5e6f) with no personal data in it. It travels on links from Talent Density to the Nova Recruiter sign-up so that a visit and a later sign-up can be recognised as the same person, and it is the anonymous key under which that page’s own usage events are recorded. Provider: Nova Retention period: until you clear your browser’s site data — local storage has no expiry date Purpose: attribution and product analytics

  • nova_td_v1 Written only after you unlock the Talent Density page by submitting the form on it. It stores the details you entered there — first name, last name, company, email address, role and country — together with the date on which you unlocked, so that the page remembers you on a later visit and you do not have to fill the form in again. Unlike the other entries described in this Policy it does hold personal data, and it stays in your own browser: no third party reads it. Provider: Nova Retention period: until you clear your browser’s site data — local storage has no expiry date Purpose: remembering a returning visitor

4. Who uses the cookies

Cookies may be placed either by Nova (first-party cookies) or by third parties providing analytics, advertising, or service integrations.

5. International data transfers

  • Participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (for certified entities)
  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
  • Additional technical safeguards such as encryption and access controls

You can request copies of relevant safeguards at privacy@novatalent.com.
